Tamara Sabella, M.Ed. — Director of Community Engagement, Corica Park

A native Californian, educator, and community leader, Tamara Sabella has dedicated her career to expanding access, opportunity, and belonging through education, sports, and youth development.

She earned a B.A. in English from St. Mary’s College of California and a Master’s degree in Education from UC Berkeley’s MUSE (Multicultural Urban Secondary English) program. Prior to entering the golf industry, Tamara served as a high school English teacher in Oakland, where she taught leadership, literacy, theatre, and college readiness while creating transformative educational experiences for students.

She later worked in nonprofit youth development, helping deliver physical education and nutrition programming to underserved schools throughout the Bay Area.

For the past five years, Tamara has served as Director of Community Engagement at Corica Park in Alameda, California, where she has helped redefine what a municipal golf facility can be. She has led the development of free youth golf and enrichment programs, community events, wellness initiatives, sustainability partnerships, and workforce development opportunities for young people.

Through collaborations with schools, nonprofits, veterans and youth organizations, and community groups, Tamara has helped build a culture of inclusion and belonging that extends well beyond the golf course. She also serves on the leadership team of the Oakland Sports Equity Coalition through Positive Coaching Alliance and is a graduate of the inaugural Alameda Leadership program.
