Josh Tapp — Director of Environmental Programs, Golf Course Superintendents Association of America

Josh Tapp is the Director of Environmental Programs at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). In this role, he is leading the modernization of the association’s initiatives in Best Management Practices (BMPs), the Golf Course Environmental Profile, land management research, and sustainability awards — helping members stay ahead of increasing regulatory pressures.

A central focus of his work is partnering with Chava McKeel to engage policymakers, regulators, and local communities, highlighting the environmental contributions of golf courses and strengthening their reputation as “good neighbors.”

Tapp earned his master’s degree in Environmental Health Science from the University of Kansas School of Engineering. Prior to joining GCSAA, he spent more than 30 years with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he led public health protection programs and the scientific and engineering teams responsible for delivering them. In recognition of his career accomplishments, he received the U.S. EPA Lifetime Achievement Award.
