Mark A. Mungeam, ASGCA — President, Mungeam Golf Design, Inc.

Mark A. Mungeam, ASGCA, grew up in Berlin, Massachusetts, and earned a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. While attending college, he worked as a greenkeeper at Berlin Country Club, where his interest in golf course design first developed.

At the recommendation of golf architect Geoffrey Cornish, Mark began his career in golf course construction, building courses from New York to Florida. He later joined Cornish & Silva as an apprentice architect before founding Mungeam Cornish Golf Design in 2006. Following Geoffrey Cornish’s passing in 2012, the firm was renamed Mungeam Golf Design, Inc. in 2019.

Mark became a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) in 1991 and currently serves as President of the organization. His portfolio includes new course designs such as Cape Cod National, Butter Brook, LeBaron Hills, Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds, Charleston Springs, and Owl’s Nest.

His notable renovation work includes Olympia Fields Country Club in Chicago, George Wright and Franklin Park Golf Courses for the City of Boston, and Farm Neck Golf Club on Martha’s Vineyard.
