Forrest Richardson is a golf course architect based in Phoenix, Arizona. Through Forrest Richardson Golf Course Architects, he has led celebrated projects throughout the United States and internationally, earning recognition for excellence, innovation, and attention to detail.
The firm’s work spans all western states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and extends internationally to Mexico, Central America, Canada, Sweden, and India.
Forrest’s design philosophy centers on creating a complete golf experience rooted in tradition, enjoyment, and harmony with the surrounding landscape. Rather than imposing a particular style, he believes each golf course should adapt to its site while meeting the needs of the golfers, members, and guests who will ultimately play it.
He is the author of five books on golf course architecture, including Routing the Golf Course, Bunkers, Pits & Other Hazards, Of Course, On Course, and Course Brains. Forrest is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) and served as its President from 2020 to 2021.
